| I want a small crape myrtle 8-10' that will do well in Sunset zone 14. Sunset suggests four: Hopi, Pecos, Sioux, and Zuni. I don't care about the color as long as it is clear, not muddy. I've seen a lot of muddy flowered crape myrtles. Anyone have experience with any of these (or other suggestions)? |

| The only way to be sure of the color quality is to buy when in bloom. Here in Calistoga a crape myrtle comes up from the ground almost from a crack in the side walk with a beautiful red bloom. If I had the nerve I would go back at night and dig it up, but instead I just enjoy it every year when it shows up again. Sunsets suggestions are good Bob, as they are also mildew resistant, but mildew should not be a problem where you live. Al |
