Why yes, as a matter of fact, you are in the right section, and "ick" seems to be exactly the right word to describe earwigs. I have been having the same delightful experience with baby earwigs this year, but I have become so accustomed to them I squish them with my fingers now.

The absolutely best fix and most organic way to get rid of those....get ducks and chickens!!! Seriously, if you could see the way that my chickens will go wiggy over mealworms, grasshoppers, bugs in general. Chickens are voracious protein eaters and are fast as lightning! Borrow someone's chickens and be rid of them forever! Not only will they clean up the living earwigs, but they will scratch in the dirt and find all the eggs too.

When we move a large rock or something that has rested on the soil, the chickens come running--they know that there will be "goodies" to find.

Seriously, just like the "rent a goat" weedwacker biz, there should be a "rent a chicken" biz. And, you can have eggs in return for the earwigs.....in goes earwigs, out comes breakfast LOL :)

My chickens will not eat earwigs or pillbugs. Black widows, yum, but not earwigs. Trade chickens, firsthouse?

Swaybaby, not sure where you are, but morning glories are considered invasive (as in: take over the telephone pole) in parts of Socal.

I've had earwigs, and they freak me out. I left rolled up wet newspaper right before trash day; they like to hide inside. I then picked up the rolls and threw them in the trash. Over time, it helps. Ugh! Gloves are a must!

I hear that brown widow spiders are here now, too!

Seriously no earwigs? Ducks will definitely eat slugs, earwigs, snails, and the like....maybe you should trade a few for a sweet Welsh Harlequin :)

You might try diatomaceous earth~ It's an organic bug killer that works by dehydrating insects so they cannot buid up a resistance.

Put out about six shallow bowls of olive oil; by three days each bowl will have at least a hundred dead earwigs in the bottom. Try one if you don't believe me.

Don't know if it works with regular vegetable oil (snobbish earwigs?.
