Desert Sumac

I am planting a garden of native plants about twelve miles up HWY 74 from the Coachella Valley. I've found almost every plant I was looking for (big thanks to the folks at The Living Desert in Palm Desert - great native plant sale today and tomorrow), but I can not find a source locally or online for the Desert Sumac, Rhus Microphylla. It's such an important and desirable wildlife plant that I hate to go without it. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you are near any plants you may want to get some cuttings or collect seed. Apparently seed is available commercially. Check the link below for propagation info.
They list a Texas nursery but it is a walk-in and also
a garden where the plants are grown. Maybe contacting them asking for seed will get you what you want?

Out of curiosity, is Rhus microphylla (littleaf Sumac), a CA native? I can't find it as such in CalFlora or Jepson and the USDA plants database shows it as AZ/NM/TX/OK. I can't imagine though that Rhus aromatica, R. ovata or R. integrifolia are any easier to find at nurseries.
