Euphorbia 'Blackbird'

I'm smitten with Euphorbia 'Blackbird' for its dark purple/maroon foliage. I'm wondering, however, if it's an aggressive re-seeder like some of the other euphorbia hybrids.

I learned my lesson from a Euphorbia 'Dolce Vita' to be careful about which perennial euphorbia I should plant. When 'Dolce Vita' went to seed, it would shoot the seed out, sometimes 20' from it! I had it 7 years ago & 3 houses ago and I still find volunteers in potted plants!

I never had this one re-seed. I have had a very hard time keeping it alive, however. All Euphorbia are a bit drainage sensitive and this one seems more so than some others. It's a knockout, though, so I keep trying it!

It is a knockout. It stopped me in my tracks when I saw it in a nursery in full sun. The plant seemed to have a gorgeous sheen to it that I don't notice in other euphorbias.

I live by the coast and our soil is sandy. I don't think I'll have issues with drainage.

Thanks for the info!
