Spicy Jatropha cold tolerance

I'm considering planting Spicy Jatropha in a spot against the house facing south-east that gets full sun from early morning until early afternoon, then bright shade (winter sun patterns probably give less sun).

This spot is somewhat protected from the colder temps blowing from the north by a nearby tangerine tree and other shrubs and trees, the fence, and others plants on the neighbors' property.

I would like to plant it ASAP while the soil and weather are warming to give it as much time as possible to settle in before next winter. Our typical winter lows are in the low 30s, but (rarely) can go as low as 26 for 1-2 nights. If necessary, I can protect it on those coldest nights.

Has anyone grown it in similar conditions? This may be a warm spot in the garden and may not reach the 26 degrees shown on the thermometer mounted on the patio post.
