I'm sorry that you've lost your father, how wonderful to have his garden...my advice? Think of him every time you're out there.

Water...weed...harvest! You'll have a lot of work to stay on top of it all so you can avoid waste and excess fruit on the ground. Keep an eye on the zucchini; in a matter of days a little finger-sized zucc can grow to enormous size.

That's quite a garden! Did your dear father plant all that? If so, he must have loved gardening very much. I'm truly sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences, and may the beauty and bounty of his wonderful garden comfort you.

So sorry that you lost your Dad, at least you have his gardens. Remember him well.

I have two suggestions::
Get Sunset's Western Garden Book;
And, take any classes your local Master Gardeners offer.

Your dad sounds like he was a master gardener.
I'm not much of a vegetable gardener, but this much I can share:

Tomatoes- water only when very dry for the sweetest toms. Once a month is enough in some climates. I can't hold off and always over-water them.
Cukes- water every other day or even daily depending on weather- they get bitter if they go dry.
Acorn squash- water twice a week depending on soil and weather.

Pick cukes as soon as they are ready or the vines will shut down production.

I think grapes dislike being watered too much, but you had better wait for someone who knows what they are talking about to chime in on that.
