Wisteria - transplat or will it grow back

I have around 8 years old well established wisteria vine by the fence.

To do some backyard work, I have to remove the fence panel so that truck can get into the area and I have to cut the tree. Its likely that there will be some traffic for a week while the work goes on in that area.

I really hate to loose the wisteria. Should I transplant it or it will grow again after dust settles down.

The wisteria will survive just fine. The problem comes if you prune it back to the ground. The good wisteria are grafted cultivars. This means that if you cut it back too far you will lose the fine blooming cultivar and be left with rootstock. I'd give it a good hard prune, just not to the ground, and work around it.
