Dark black evergreen screening shrub?

I was at a gardening center a few months back and caught a glimpse of a dark leaved shrub which looked as if it might make a great screening plant. It was pretty expensive, so i didn't get it, and now I am regretting it!!

I also have forgotten it's name!

It's leaves looked kind of like a podocarpus...but I googled and could not find any podocarpus that was black.

Does anyone have any idea of what this shrub could have been?

I have some purple dodonaea's right now as my screeners for a raised planter that is about 20 feet by 5 feet...but I just read that they can be short lived...

If it's Agonis be aware that it is frost tender. Mine (i'm in similar microclimate) freezes to the ground every 3-5 years or is severely 'pruned' back. So not a great choice for a screen in your zone. You might try Leptospermum 'Dark Shadows', which, while also slightly tender, has barely frozen here in the years that I've had both it and the Agonis.
