I grow the 'Angel's Blush' cultivar and really enjoy it. My garden is quite shady, and it still blooms prolifically over a long period. The only maintenance I perform is to rip out and discard some rosettes when the clump starts to get crowded; It will begin to decline and bloom sparsely otherwise.

I love it too- but in full sun with twice a week water it reseeds quite aggressively. It looks pretty all year, even when it is not in bloom. I had a big swath of it down the middle of the garden one year, and it was breathtaking.

susan- i am glad to know about the cultivar... hadn't ever considered the possibility that there might be one, and i will try to find it. i'm assuming from the name that it is pink(ish). do you think it is as strong a plant as my more ordinary one?

Hi Min,

Angel's Blush has a white bloom with a pink center (see link below.) In my garden, it is just as vigorous as the plain species. -If you enjoy growing from seed, I would be happy to send you some.

In my earlier post, I forgot to mention that there is a gorgeous cultivar, "Gardener's World", that has large, double true-red flowers that look like carnations. Unfortunately, it is sterile so cannot be grown from seed. I am sure I will break down and purchase it one day.
