Odd Bug Flying In Garden

An orange flying bug that looked like a large goldfish with wings and a few of his friends was buzzing around my garden yesterday. I don't recall ever seeing anything like this. Often we have the dark orange skinny flying bug but they don't buzz..

Suuuuuure you did.

How large is large? Was it a dragonfly type bug, a bee/wasp type bug, or a beetle type bug? Was it rusty orange or day-glo? Grasshopperish?

You may be able to find your bug at What's That Bug. If you can get a photo and post it, someone will be able to identify it for you.

My only guesses are

1. Red Skimmer Dragonfly
2. Tarantula Hawk
3. Cicada

Good luck, and be sure to report back.
