New Planter. Sun, layout, what will grow?

Just finished my planter and also created a little section on the left. The gravel will be the fake grass soon.

Planted is 13' long 20" tall and 20" wide, maybe 24" wide.

The plants I've bought are:
Kumquat, Eureka Lemon, Black cherry tomato, ground cherries.

Seeds Ive bought;
Spinach, orange yellow carrots, basil and cucumber.

This picture was taken at 9:30. The fence along the planter is facing east. I want to plant soon but want to make sure my layout is good and each plants is getting the sun it needs.

The dirt 4x4 section the left will get sun until noon then the planter gets it.

    I think you mean your fence behind the planter is on the east side of your house, and the planter faces west? If this is 9:30 am, then your fence would be on the east side of your yard :-) I would say your plant choices are great - all liking very full sun. I would plant your Eureka lemon in the far north corner of the planter, as lemons are pretty vigorous citrus cultivars. Kumquats are naturally more compact. I would plant the kumquat next to the lemon, then leave the rest of the planter for your veggies. That way, the citrus trees will not create shade for your veggies. You can plant annuals in there when the veggies are done, until next season.
