I like to propagate various plants, and I was thinking of selling the extras on ebay / craigslist. We could use the $$ in these tough times... Anyway, I do not have any professional equipment or huge land, I do it all inside & on the deck. It's just a hobby, not a business.

Does anyone know what the legal requirements are for selling plants? From what I understand, I need a CA nursery license, unless I sell plants for the sole purpose of indoor decoration. This will probably be fine with violets, but how about others like figs? After all they can and are grown indoors in pots.

Anyway - if I do need a license, is there more to it than paying the fee? Do I need any other kind of permit / inspection? How about if I ship plants to other states (not AK, HI or PR)?
