Hello,

I see these trees around the neighborhood and on the side of trails in los gatos area. This makes me think they are either natives, or naturalized imports. I am trying to figure out what they are.

This is the actual tree

The mystery tree

A close up. The trees fruits are fuzzy/sticky on the outside. Either birds or squirrels seem to be nibbling on them, but they don't look edible to me.

Another shot of the tree..
