| I got a sago palm from my neighbor. She still has two more. All of them are planted with soil level about 4 inches below the top of the pot. I live in zone 9, rarely gets to freezing here. I would like to pot higher up in pot but wonder if there is a reason it is farther down. (maybe protection from the cold)? |

| No reason. The potting soil is broken down and compressed so its time to repot. |

| Absolutely correct. I have two that have been in the same potting mix for 7 or 8 years and will be a really big job to change to the new mix, but necessary. A friend just got stabbed in the eye by one, so I will be sure to ware eye protection before starting the job. Al |
