| Help me out. I'm trying to decide if I should start cool season plant seeds now or wait. I want to start sweet peas and violas. Should I wait for the cool season weeds to start emerging?
Also, the santa ana winds used to blow around Halloween but now seem to have moved. What are you all doing? Are you bracing for more heat and wind or are you doing other things? |

| I'm starting now with seeds for broccoli and kale, and maybe bok choy. By the time they sprout and get big enough to put in the garden, the hottest weather should be over. I really should have started a few weeks ago. Plants growth responds to the length of days as well as temperature. I'm a less than 10 miles south of you. |
