sorry have not heard of it, but wouldn't Sloat Garden Center staff be able to advise you, also consider micro climates here in the city, i live in a fog belt so forget after 4th of july to start warm season plants, lucky you to have tomatoes, my toms died in august full of green fruit but the plant rotted from this years damp cold weather. pea pods do well pretty much all year also greens, i grow garlic and potatoes too, herbs french tarragon, oregano, thyme and of course who doesn't grow rosemary.others on this forum will have suggestions for sure. Go Gigantes!. I think most city nurserys will carry the Tomato varietys that do as best as they can in S.F. Wouldnt hurt to plant them through black plastic sheeting to boost heat.
