Wilting Cauliflower

vbgreens

I just planted a winter crop of broccoli, cauliflower, kale and romaine last weekend. These were all from starters I got from the garden center. Most things seem to be doing well, except for the cauliflower which seems to be wilting.

I have read that cauliflower can be more temperamental than some plants and I am thinking that the hot weather we have had since I planted (high 70s not uncommon during the day) may be the issue? I have been watering every morning so I don't think it's a water problem..

Should I shade these guys until things cool off? It's supposed to be warm again this weekend! Low 80's.. Not very wintery.. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks!
