Shorten a soaker hose?

Anyone know the best way to shorten a soaker hose? I have a 10 foot patch to set one in... and a very long hose. I assume I have to cut off the end and secure it somehow. Duct tape???

Maybe a better question is -- where can I buy a 10 - 15 foot soaker hose???

Thanks!

I just got some hose end connectors at Hdware Store, seems to work pretty good.

That's what I did too. They have the end connectors or you could double the end and wire it together to hold the water in.

The hose menders for 1/2 and 5/8 hose work just as well on soaker hose. I like the plastic ones held on with two screws, they are also reuseable. Al

RE: Shorten a soaker hose?

My soaker hose needs to be shortened from the end that the water source attaches to - horrible grammar. 90% of the water that enters my soaker is spraying out a leak about 15 inches from the hose connector. Can one move that end?

Easy fix, get a new end at store and cut off where you need it to be and attach.

In a pinch you can fold one end over and secure it with a zip tie (aka cable tie).
