I don't plant many veggies in fall from seed aside from a few radishes and lettuces. But flowers? Oh yes, now is the time- all the way through February.
    I direct sow:

    annuals-
    larkspur
    red flax
    toadflax
    California poppies
    breadseed poppies
    paludosum daisies
    alyssum
    Queen Anne's Lace
    nigella
    bachelor buttons
    elegant clarkia
    nasturtiums
    violas
    Mexican hat
    annual coreopsis

    perennials/biennials-
    yarrow
    columbine
    foxglove
    feverfew

Hurray for fall! Now, if I could just get a few hours to clear out the summer stuff and toss the seeds out...

    helen:

You are not colder than me or not so much colder that it would impact your choices as I listed.
