Feijoa fruits galore!

So with the cooler-than-average summer (mostly in the mid to high 80s in the inland Bay Area), we are getting a bumper crop of feijoa sellowiana (pineapple guava). Hundreds and hundreds of them from 3 bushes. Anyone else harvesting these? They are hard to get at the grocery stores but not impossible to get. Pretty expensive to buy though.

By comparison, our pomegranates are small and splitting this year, while last year they were the size of grapefruit.

My tree is loaded, the branches are bowing down, but nothing is ripe yet. Usually we're eating them in late September. I picked one instead of waiting till it fell off and it was hard and sour. Is this the lack of rain last season? Anybody else in southern California having the same experience?

This old thread came up after a search but doesn't answer my question, what does one do with all the fruit? we eat a lot fresh and give the rest away. But does anyone know what other uses they have other than seasonal fresh fruit

Im having a huge crop of the tropical pink guava. And i'm in the same boat with your pomegranates. Mines are rather small and splitting. I can't complain though, because my pomegranate tree is litterally on its own. I water it only about once a month!
