spineless cactus pear?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at my special-order bareroot tree list, and wondered about one of my favorite fruits....cactus pear.

I know that cactus/prickly pear does well here (usda9/sunset15) in contra costa county because I've seen the prickly thing in many places....though I have small/young kids around a lot, so I don't want all the prickles.

Does a spineless/prickless cactus pear exist?....and if so, anyone know where I can buy one?
