Gypsy Moths Discovered in So. Cal

News item. State Agriculture has found gypsy moth caterpillars in Ojai. There is now a quarantine for the Ojai valley. This is disturbing. (caterpillar or moth may have hitched a ride on a truck from the Midwest or East). The caterpillar is a devastating insect that will destroy trees, crops, just about anything.

Oh yes they are bad! Being a transplant from MI I have seen them in trees, on homes. They cover trees and even doorways. It's a short season for them there but they come back every year. Hopefully they can stop them here.
