Sounds like mealy bugs to me.

Ask a friend, neighbor, relative to help with taking & posting pictures.

Otherwise, all suggestions are guesses.

Strawberries will rot, turn moldy and/or grow what looks to be a fungus if they are left to rest on moist ground for too long. Ants, earwigs, and sow bugs may cause damage as well. The best solution is to prop up the berries so that they stay off the ground. Some forum members (myself included) use plastic forks to accomplish this. The fork handle is stuck in the dirt and the berry stems rest in the tines.
