Need help finding a shrub for dry shade

S Hill

Hello! I am in the process of landscaping my front yard. My biggest challenge (other than that darn clay soil) is that the space is on the north side of my house. Much of it only gets a bit of sun late in the afternoon certain times of year. The rest of the time it is full shade. For the sunny spots I am using some Jerusalem sage, Mexican sage, succulents, etc. I am looking for a shrub that will be a nice contrast to the dark brown trim on my house and will coordinate with the rest of my landscape. Preferably a plant with some silver foliage. I am not sure if this plant exists.
Can anyone recommend a nice shrub for dry shade? I will need to be able to keep it compact (3' or so) as it will be under some windows. Thanks! Happy New Year!
