Young Boxwoods

I have about a dozen young boxwood's. Not more than 18" in diameter. Although it rarely freezes here in Sacramento, CA.
I was wondering if there is anything I should be doing for them for the winter. Currently our day temps are mid 50's and night high 30's. Is it too late for me to give them 12-6-6 fertilizer? I read that this can be done spring or fall. And since we don't really get a winter here in the valley, I was thinking I could still feed them. I put them in the ground a week ago..

Thanks!
