Winter foliage color in the East Bay

So many plants to choose from when considering winter foliage color, but this is a seldom seen plant that always reminds me of "Cousin It' from the Adams Family tv show. I don't know why this isn't planted in gardens more often, and I don't think it is currently of offer from San Marcos Growers where I first became acquainted with it. I like it because it needs very little care or grooming, yet looks this colorful all year round here. Lots of elegant plants come from Taiwan, but so few have made it into the nursery trade here in California...
