Vines for fence on north side of the house

Hi,
I have a fence build along the north side of my house (running east-west). The front of the fence is made of redwood boards to give us privacy from the street, but the rest of the fence as it goes toward the backyard is made of horse fencing on a wooden framework. I want to cover the fence vines. The vines will have a southern exposure, planted along the fence.

I was thinking of planting ficus pumila (climbing fig) because the dense growth would create a solid green "wall." Another option I considered is pandorea jasminoides but the wall would be a bit more see-through. What would you recommend? I'm in zone 9b in Fresno. The area is mostly sunny, with some shade closer to the ginko tree in the photo.
