Blackberries for Paso Robles

I'm planning a blackberry patch for my new garden and I'm hoping for any suggestions for varieties that will do well here in Paso. I want to plant an assortment, so far, looking at:
Thornless Olallie
Thornless Boysen
Triple Crown Thornless
Hull Thornless
Chester Thornless
Any suggestions, warnings, etc, would be very much appreciated!

One more question, should I plant in gopher baskets? Do gophers go for berries?
