when to prune my sage?

Newbie to gardening in the SF Bay area. Does anyone know when and how much to prune the following plants:
Sage, Marcus Meadow Dwarf habit
Sage, blue - Mystic Spires
Erysimum - Apricot Twist
They are all looking a bit shabby, but not brown at all. The Marcus Meadow sage in particular looks like something stepped on it (splayed branches on the ground).

I wouldn't prune anything until it warms up in Spring and you start to see new growth so you know where to prune to.

I agree with westelle. It is supposed to look crummy this time of the year, especially with the cold dry weather of the past month. It is best to put up with it looking shabby until new growth starts at the base, then trim off the old growth. Al
