Camellia lutchuensis leaf drop

I just planted a Cam. Lutch. from a plastic pot into the ground. It has dropped its leaves from only one "side" of the plant. The other side is doing well. I tied in back to stakes to give it a tight profile again the wall. It is planted at the right height in proper soil. We've had a few cold snaps in the SF Bay Area, but nothing major. It gets AM sun for a short while. It's about a 3 foot high specimen bought from a reputable Berkeley nursery. Do I simply wait out it's shock? Thank you for helping my new entry to the garden.

Is it single- or multi-trunk? And if multi-trunk, did the leaves drop from only one trunk? If you scratch the bark where the leaves dropped, do you see green wood?
