camellia buds falling

The buds are falling off our small (3 ft high) potted camellia - there's only one left. What usually causes this? I did bring it in over the holidays to serve as a sustitute xmas tree (tastefully, minimally decorated - looked good) - maybe it wasn't such a good idea. I think its been watered well enough and not too much.

placing it inside in a warm, dry(non-humid) environment sounds like the cause to me. i see similar results even with houseplants brought inside for the winter.
guessing it was inside for a couple of weeks? |
