I don't frequent this forum, I only have a couple of camellias in my yard, but I wanted to share these photos with people who would appreciate them.

There's an old house across from us that is vacant and has more camellias than I've ever seen in one place before. They are just starting to really bloom and I went over there and "liberated" some flowers. Truly gorgeous, I wish the pictures did them more justice.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Thank you for your photographies. It is a time of Camellias. Some of the flowers that you teach us, seem to me to be known. The fans of the Camellias, buy one or two plants. It is originally.
Later they fill with enthusiasm, when they know the multitude of forms, sizes and colours. Also with the epochs different from flowering. Also they get enthusiastic with the rare species and with the aromatic varieties.

I recommend to you, to look this one At Link of exhibitions of Camellias.

Beautiful--wish I lived a zone or two south!

How pretty! We just planted a baby camellia, and it's flowers aren't that pretty, those have all the stripes and ruffles!

Make sure whatever you do to keep those bushes/trees STANDING. Since it's on vacant property they run the risks of getting cut down I guess.....and that would be a shame, they look too special.

What an assortment of blooms! Great to have such a view across the street. Maybe new people will move in and take care of them, or maybe you can offer to take some of them if they don't want them. Thanks for sharing w/ us. Brandy

To all: If you really enjoy the unique beauty, you should find and joint an area camellia society such as American Camellia Society. You will be an eye opener to see so many new or different camellia cultivars and hybrids, much more exciting than regular camellias.
