it is somewhat reminiscent of 'dr. tinsley' in form and color. i have seen pics of the plant with slight variations in color, but the form is always the same. that "white stripe" might just be where the petal was in a fold before it opened. here is a typical photo of the flower. it is a popular, old cultivar, widely planted in the south. not a spot on match, so it might be another cultivar. |

| I have spent alot of time looking at the pictures on the ACS website, and I think that I have C. japonica cv. Wildwood. But I think that I also have a sport which is what I took a picture of. Many of the flowers on my plant look exactly like Wildwood. Of course, I haven't been able to find anything on google or yahoo about the introduction date, etc., so I ain't positive, but I'm pretty sure that is what I've got. Thank you for responding. Ken |
