| Am I correct in assuming that January is a good month for planting camellias in Central AL? Also does anyone know of a nursery or somewhere I can purchase some of these different varities that are spoke of in this forum?
We had a great nursery for years in our area but the owner recently passed away from cancer and her family closed the business.......I have looked and haven't had much luck.....am I looking tooo early? |

| Maybe the American Camellia Society can steer you towards some nurseries. I know they helped me a lot when I was just getting started. Sandy |

| are you in the montgomery or birmingham area? if so, petals from the past nursery in jemison (roughly mid-way between these cities on interstate 65) will have some. also, if you are within driving distance of one of these cities, i am sure that the local nurseries there will also sell camellias. i see them at the box-store garden centers in early spring, too. wait until late winter to check the local outlets. camellia forest nursery has a large mailorder selection. |
