Blooms Only on Bottom of Camellia Plants

| We have two camellias (no idea what kind but deep red blooms) that were set out about two years ago. Last year they were covered with blooms. However, this year all of the blooms are around the very bottom of the plant, about 4 to 6 inches from the soil. No blooms whatsoever on the remainder of the plants. Each plant is about 5 feet tall and they appear to be very healthy.
Any info as to the cause and solution would be appreciated. |

Did you have a heavy frost that might have gotten the buds higher on the bush? Or did you trim the ends of the branches during the summer or fall? Other than that, I have no idea. I am sure there's nothing wrong with them but I can understand your concern and curiosity. PB |

Thanks PeaBee4 for your input....but no trimming, and no frost seemed to cause the problem as there were no buds apparent before the cold weather arrived. thanks again..... |
