Camellia(s) in z6?

I desperatly (again? LOL!) need fall blooming evergreen shrub and want to try some Ackerman's cultivars, "Winter Charm", "Snow Flurry" and "Winter Rose" in particular.

Does anyone have a first hand experience with them?

Habit, ultimate size etc?

Also, by reading Dr. Ackerman's article (link is below) and comments on this forum, it is clear to me that they have to be protected from the morning sun in a winter.

In practical terms it means that only NW or W exposure on my property would be suitable to meet such requirement.

However, such locations would only have not more than 2 hours of direct sun at the peak of a summer, but would be in an open shade rest of the day. Would it be enough for them to bloom? Rhododendrons thriving there, if it's any indication.

Here is a link that might be useful: Ackerman's article
