Sasanquas begin blooming in early Fall while Japonicas begin late. As you can expect, there is some variability as some japonicas can bloom as early as December while others wait until just about now. It is not written in stone that they will bloom on a given month so do not be surprised when unusual winter weather patterns cause the plants to bloom at a different time.

For starters, check out the Monrovia website's advanced plant search webpage on the link below. Click on plant type and the click on camellia. If you wish to look for other attributes, for example, click flower color and the click on one of the colors. When you are done selecting attributes, click on the word search.

They have a large selection so do not be surprised if you end up drinking several cups of coffee while reviewing the information and pictures.

Any suggestions for cutting blooms in the summer and fall which could nicely complement the camellias and have the same soil needs?
When I have a nice block of time and some Peet's, I'll get back on the Monrovia site to get more educated. In the meantime, I am learning a lot right here in these forums!!

Hybrid lilies would be suitable for cutting. Otherwise classic summer-blooming companions for camellias are hardy fuchsias.
