can camellias grow in oklahoma?

My daughter lives in Mississippi & has beautiful Camellias all year round. I've been told I can't successfully grow them in NE Okla. Is this true & if not, where do I buy them & how & where do I plant them? Thanks for any info.

I am sure you can...
I just sent my exMIL one for her birthday. She lives in Prague, OK. So I think you could just go ahead and get some growing. I would watch for frost the first few years and wrap them to protect the leaves.

They are certainly worth the attempt!

Do you start them with seeds or cuttings? I've tried bringing cuttings back from Mississippi, putting them in water to try to root, but had no luck!

Well, now that is a lot more complicated when you start talking about propagating camellias.

Perhaps a search of the foum or starting a nrew thread would be appropriate...

all the best!
