if you will send an email to remind me this fall, i should have some seeds to send. you never know what the plants from those will look like. if we have another exceptionally dry summer, there may not be any, though. |

| The best way to progagate camellias in by air layering if you have a friend nearby who will allow this on their plants. The time for this in our area of eastern North Carolina is now. The new plant should be rooted and ready to pot up in July. The plant you end up with should be about 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall and should bloom next year. Camellias are slow growing and would take several years from cutting to bloom time. Ditto with seeds and plant does not come true to parent - may be better but many are inferior. Don't know where you live but is there a local Camellia club near you? Join them for ideas on best inexpensive plants to purchase or air layering. In our club members can buy three year old healthy plants for $16.00. The club makes $5.00 per plant. Good luck. Camellias are some of the most beautiful flowers and very varied if viable in your climate or you have a greenhouse. In our area the largest flowers are green house grown but most of us do not have greenhouses. In our Zone 8, acidic soil and dappled shade, our lovely oriental beauties thrive. |

| I would be happy to send you a cutting or two. I have a mature red Camellia. You will have to tell me how to ship it, though, so that it would be of any use to you. I would think that it would be ruined in the mail? Let me know if you are interested. |
