 o
cut unopened buds?

Posted by PoorOwner Northern CA (My Page) on

I have bought a C Japonica (Nuccio's Gem) and planted

It has a few buds that seem like they are going to open, but hasn't progressed for a week. My understanding is that they are suppose to bloom in winter. So.. Should I cut the buds off? Where do I make the cut? Thanks

RE: cut unopened buds?

A bush with buds will either drop them or they will open. We have had such freaky weather this year that the blooming cycle for a lot of things is upset. A lot of camellias have not yet finished blooming. Have patience. Winter bloom means different things to different plants. Leave them alone.
