Can someone I.D. this for me?

| I'm hoping someone can identify this camellia for me. I've been searching through the posts, but my untrained eye can't pick this one out. Thanks so much.

| There are several "Gallery of Blooms" sites on the web you might browse. It is hard to tell from the photo -- the slightly purplish edges and veining suggest it may be a member of the Mathotiana family, maybe 'Mathotiana Supreme' but thats a guess. |

| Could it be 'Katherine Nuccio'? Is it an older plant? 'Katherine Nuccio' was apparently popular in Eastern NC in the past as I've seen it in a lot of older gardens. Honestly, a lot of camellias are difficult to i.d. based on only one bloom. Lots of cultivars have variable flowers. Just look at a few camellia galleries and compare specific cultivars and you'll see the variation. |
