I recently received a camellia with hard scale. It is already warm (70 degrees) in west central Florida. I was wondering what I should use to control the hard scale. Thank you. Regards, Susan

Try some 'Ultra-Fine' from your local garden center. It is an emulsified parafin product that is sprayed on the underside of the leaves where the scale bugs grow, suffocating them. It is not a chemical pesticide and is non-toxic. You could fry an egg in it.

Sumole, did you purchase the camellia from a nursery? I'd send back..Why take the risk of not only a new plant dying but other nearby plants catching these sucking insects? Can you return it? Toni
