Where to plant my Camellia 'Taylors Perfection'

I live in Cary North Carolina. I have a South-West facing house. I have bought a Camellia taylor's perfection plant and I am having a hard time deciding where to plant it as I read that it should be protected from the hot afternoon sun. I was planning to plant it near the South-east facing wall. Is this a good location for my camellia? Or is it better to plant it near the south west facing wall. I Don't want my plant to die as i love my plants as if they r my babies. Any reply would be of help. Thanks

I ordered a 'Taylor's Perfection' from Camellia Forest Nursery a couple of weeks ago and plan to keep it in a container until sometime in the late fall. 'Taylor's Perfection' is considered a "center-stage performer," blooming profusely in an attention-getting kind of way. Therefore, I think it deserves a spot way out in front of the house near the street or road where passersby can really get a floral eyeful. If the 'Taylor's Perfection' is planted in the foundation shrubbery, the poor thing won't have the opportunity of shining.

South walls tend to get very hot and reflect a great deal of heat and UV, especially a southwest wall. I don't think I would plant a camellia there unless it is getting filtered shade from a tree. A north wall will work though. Sandy

I also bought a Taylors perfection, while working in South Carolina this nursery had gotten a shipment of at least fifty they were overgrown over 4 feet high in a 3 gallon pot. My question is Is this a reticualata or a japonica I was under the impression that it is a reticulata. Do any of you know? I guess maybe it doesn't matter I just like to try to keep up with the proper names of plants. By the way I planted mine in filtered shade and cut it back a little, they tend to look leggy to me.James
