What a great picture! I love 'Herme' -- it is my personal favorite of all the old ones, and fragrant too. You have a good one. It has a great story behind it from Japan where it was named 'Hikarugenji' meaning "dancing Genji" named for a handsome and elegant Japanese prince. Our friends in California call it 'Jordan's Pride.'

By the way, is that spanish moss growing on the plant??

RE: Oooh! Ahhhh

This one was in a local park and the shrub was huge!
It was about 15 ft tall and the trunk was multi-stemmed with a caliper of at least 5 inches.
And you are correct about the spanish moss as well. When it is draped through the camellias, it reminds me of a lace cape on an old southern lady...

Thanks for sharing that bit about its name. I had no idea!
