Mystery camellia

I purchased this as 'Tom Knudsen' (which it's obviously not) from a "big box" store in the fall. Any ideas as to it's identity?

RE: Mystery camellia

It looks as though it has flared stamens, and, thus, could be one of the Higo japonicas. Stirling Macoboy's _The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Camellias_ has a higo chapter with illustrations of many varieties. If it is a higo, you might spot in there.

Saludos.
