have never seen a Camellia before

In all of my times taking cuttings and seeing different plants I had never seen a Camellia before until today. We were out driving in Leesburg, Florida and stopped at a yard sale and saw this incredible bush like tree just cover in these beautiful Pink tighly wound disks of pink flowers, the girl said it was a Camellia and that we could have some I took a cutting and brought it home to Port Saint Lucie, Florida. First off how do I root these and is it very hard to do? Second will it grow in my area of the state? I can give it anything in the way of sun or shade or both, I live on a canal so the soil there is acidic, if that helps or other areas that are not acidic. Any help will be appreciated. I would post a Pic if I knew how but I don't. Thanks, Mike

Camellias should be very common in your part of the state. I've attached a good site for you to do some reading. Good luck with your cutting!

Here is a link that might be useful: American Camellia Society
