Raised vegetable bed near Camelia

I am a new homeowner and gardener and am considering creating a raised garden bed with about 10 inches of new organic soil next to an existing Camelia tree.

How much space should I put between the bed and the point where the Camelia bark enters the ground. I don't want to stifle the Camelia roots of air and also water (i.e., when it rains or when I water the raised bed, water may no longer be getting to some of the Camelia roots through that 10 inches of new soil).

Any advice would be much appreciated.
