Drooping leaves on new growth?

This Camellia has been in the ground for 2 months and has done really well. I water it regularly, planted it correctly with the rootball a little high, checked the pH of the soil (6.5), it gets morning sun only, and mulched with pine bark. A small tornado came through about 3 weeks ago, and I need to replace the pine mulch which is clearly gone now in the pics. I thought it was doing really well, no bud drop after I planted it, no yellowing leaves indicating a deficiency or too much sun. It has quite a bit of new growth. I've monitored this camellia very closely, along with another one I have in a different location. Yesterday I noticed that the new growth is drooping. We got about an inch of rain 3 days ago, so I don't suspect a lack of water. Could it be pouting because of all of the wind it received during the tornado? Any thoughts? It only seems to be the new growth, the rest of the plant looks fine. Thanks!! Christy
