 o
camellias co-exist with wisteria?

Put this on the vines forum but maybe here would be a good place to ask also. I just realized that a good place to put a camellia is next to my wisteria. Right now it's rambling over an arbor (metal) and it's also a perfect place for my espallied(sp?) camellia 'Cleopatra'. I'm going to prune the wisteria into a tree form but wondered how these would co-exist. Wonder if I can even dig through the root system!! Time for the pick axe. : l) I'd like to put the camillia out a little but that's our property line.

Also, when would be a good time to prune the wisteria drastically so as not to loose blooms?

Wisteria get to be very large, even when pruned to a tree form. I would not plant a camellia, or anything else, anywhere near it.

Here is a link that might be useful: tree form wisteria
