Camelia sinensis question

My camelia sinensis has finally developed buds. I wanted to know if these were self fertile or do you need more then one camelia for pollination?
Thanks,
Karyn

RE: Camelia sinensis question

The information that I find indicates that Camellia sinensis is not self-fertile, but since other Camellia are, you may want to research that a bit. Pollination, by the way, is not required for flower production. (You probably already know that.) ;-)

RE: Camelia sinensis question

Thanks. I was just wondering if there was a possibility of getting seeds but I guess not. I'm just excited that it's finally blooming. I've had this plant for a number of years and this is the first time it got buds.
Karyn
